Avallónë

Region: Aman
Location: A city on the island of Tol Eressëa. The Akallabêth says of it, "of all cities the nearest to Valinor, and the tower of Avallónë is the first sight that the mariner beholds when at last he draws nigh to the Undying Lands over the leagues of the Sea." In earlier descriptions in HoMe IX, Sauron Defeated, it is instead on the eastern shore of the isle.
Description: The Silmarillion mentions "the lamplit quays of Avallónë.
Several things from Avallónë were brought by the Eldar to Númenor: flowers and fountains, and the original White Tree. The Masterstone of the palantíri was in the tower of Avallónë.
