Two Dreams & a Wizard

Thank you, Anglachel! It started with my wondering, as a harper myself, about what happened to the instruments...and I was quite surprised when the bits about Gar's influence and how important Bilbo's deciding to go was in future choices made by Frodo began to surface! But as a traditional Celtic storyteller, I believe that stories are one of the most underrated influences/forces in human lives!--Barra

Excellent! What a beautiful weaving of past and future, foresight, magic and music. And of course, it was the music that made the difference... and I must admit that the tune in the film was far better than anything in my head! Too bad they didn't sing all 26 verses! Great tale!

Aiwendiel, thank you! Did you notice that they also did part of the washing-up song before that? As to the song in the parlor, I sang it all the way home, wishing I had the skill to play by ear. Now I want to find sheet music for it so I can play it on my harp--not as large as I envision Thorin's, not gold, and kept in a grey softshell bag when not being played, but stil with a lovely sound (once it's tuned!). --Barra

Ch. 1: Two Dreams and a Wizard
Ah, this is a lovely story! I think you've hit on something with the music, which is so integral to the Ardaverse. And Gandalf gets to show off (a little), which is always fun!
