Ch. 4: Cair Andros

I'm enjoying this immensely (if 'enjoy' is the word for a story this dark You little devil! )

Ch. 8: The Memory of the Crowning of the King.

When he turned back, he noticed for the first time that the windows of the houses were covered with black cloth, and on the sills, the people had put white flowers.

Hopefully, the Enemy's soldiers are not too good at noticing details...

Ch. 9: Returning Strength

Yippee, I just found this new chapter. Keep up the great work. Nothing I love more than a good angsty Aragorn story.Your charactisation of Aragorn in ongoing dire straits makes for great reading. A real treat.

Ch. 10: The Remnant

Dear Ragnelle -- your story is indeed compelling. This chapter is very rich, detailed, nuanced in your portrayal of how the men of the North must now behave to survive and how they close in around their Chieftain. you show their pride and their strength -- and also that it is not limitless. The most chilling detail for me is that you leave the reader to imagine the cage Aragorn dread so clearly -- and I find that images infiltrate my nightmares. Worse than seeing it outright -- your intention, clearly. Well done!

Ch. 11: This Shall Too

Of course men from lands and regions not bred from birth for their loyalty to Isildur's Heir might now place blame upon him -- as if somehow the whole war was all his doing. That scene is so well played, and you unravel horrible memories for us to see -- Aragorn's and the others' -- with just enough detail but not too much. Alas Poor Elrond, and by implication, Galadriel! Does Sauron truly have Arwen too, or is that just a cruel lie? And thank you for news of Gandalf at last -- would that White can counter Black from that place beyond speech or deed, still unbent. A miniscule tendril of hope.
