The time for secrecy

Good stuff, Nath! Stories involving the Palantiri are always fascinating - Gandalf's quotes "Perilous to all of us are the devices of an art deeper than we ourselves possess" combined with "It is beyond his art, and beyond Sauron's too." (referring to Pippin's question who made the Stones) is one of the great riddles of LOTR - it suggests the Palantiri are somehow 'deeper' even than the Rings. And who ends up being destroyed by the peril? Sauron!

I don't have anything deep or long to say, but I like this story a lot. Partly because the writing is clear and easy to follow, but that really just made it easier to appreciate the subject of the story - and that was what really drew me in. The relationship between Halbarad and Aragorn is very nicely drawn.
