Ch. 1: "History Becomes Legend ..."
I want to apologize for being so delayed in responding to this, Freyalyn. RL has been a bear for the last two months, and I have a lot to do to catch up with it.
The prompt for the challenge for which this was written was "Myth," and I was to somehow manage to work apricots into it. Once I decided on dried apricots, noting there were some of these in the latest bag of dried fruit I'd bought, suddenly this hit me--how to myths become myth, after all? And seeing how most in the Shire evidenced little interest in knowing what it was Frodo did outside the Shire, how would those few who ventured forth react to the stories they heard outside of it? And this was what came out of it all!
Thanks so for all your feedback--it does mean a good deal to me, of course.
