Just stumbled on this, curious to see what sorts of tales the other couple of folks signed on at this moment have posted... what a delight. Excellent insight, crisp and dead-on characters, and thoughtful speculations on close calls. Thanks for this!

Thanks so much for the kind words, Aiwendiel! Celebrian was born about 1400 S. A., the tales say, so (LACE or not) Elrond could hardly have been the first to catch her eye (or vice versa)!
