This ficlet is intriguing because of the questions it raises. After all,it's generally thought that the Orcs were originally Elves -- and not Elves who followed Morgoth (and later Sauron) by choice, but rather Elves which had been taken prisoner and tortured. They were forced to become Orcs -- they didn't choose to become Orcs. Knowing this, is it possible that the Valar could forgive the Orcs when they died and perhaps admit them into the Halls of Mandos despite all the evils they had committed? I think you have to admit that it's quite possible.
