Hand to Hand

You describe this so perfectly! I know the landscape of North Yorkshire well, and you have it just right.
And I great admire the patience of Dirmaen's mother...

Adaneth,
"...it is not meant--it is not fit--it is not possible that it should be so."
Or is it? This new chapter left me as confused as Dírmaen. At least I can pity both him and Mereth now. It reminds me of one Heine's poems:
It is an old story
And yet it is always new;
And he who finds himself in it
Finds his heart broken in two
Elrûn

Hi,
Sorry, I haven't review for a long time, Rl has taken over me and I have not time at all. I have read the last two chapters and I'm so glad to see Dirmaen again, I still have hopes for him, funny, his story has become my main focus. The landscape that you describe is a little depressing; I'm so used to tropical rainforest (in my childhood) and now to the semi-dessert landscape of southern California that it is hard to me to figure out how melancholic you can feel form observing the landscape.Anyway, glad that you are updating this wonderful story, I'm reading and can't wait for more, sorry that I can review often or have an interesting review, but know that I appreciate your job and love it.Thanks, Fantasia

No need to apologize, Fantasia, I certainly know what that's like!
The British landscape can sometimes be very melancholy, particularly in winter--but then the sun breaks through the clouds and the colors can be amazing, the more so for how dull it was before.
Yes, Dírmaen is taking over this story a bit, isn't he? But it doesn't seem to be making Elrûn very happy.
This new chapter left me as confused as Dírmaen.
He is very much adrift at this point. As a Ranger, he is used to always having something that needs doing. But he just can't settle to this finding a wife gig . . . .
Time will tell, I'm sure. ![]()
Thank you all for reading!
Cheers--
Adaneth
