Goodness me! I've found a mistake - a misplaced apostrophe!!
Lovely little filler. I can just see Sam and Frodo's expressions, Sam as he stares hard to try and see what he knows he's missing, and Frodo, as he avoids explanations in the nicest way.
And clever kitten. Mine likes to sleep under my arm - a neck would be easier.
