Good chuckle. Love the line: "Illuvatar himself explained this to us in the beginning, but we did not share it with the Quendi because we did not think they needed it." Those Valar are so clueless. I learned early and life, first as a school teacher and later as mother, it is not smart to casually dismiss the brainstorms of kids who are brighter than you are. I don't know why that "th" sound always gets a laugh--but I laughed.
