How wonderful to discover a new chapter in this tale! I appreciate how you continue to 'tell it slant' through secondary characters viewpoints. Erkenbrand is merely a cardboard image in the original and you have fleshed him out fully. Nice take on the similarities of the marriage customs between Rohan and The Shire, too -- except of course, hobbits would have it all down on paper with multiple signatures! So poignant, in contrast to your recent chapters full of so much loss, to see the most common ceremony and celebration of all playing out, despite the world falling to pieces. And the wedding night shenanigans at the end... perfect! Nicely done!
