Oh, Nath! You continue to stretch my poor heart between scenes of grim hope and awful reality. This chapter, immediately coming after one full of strategy and men doing what they can to stave off the day of final reckoning, is all the more heartbreaking. And a cliff hanger -- literally as well as figuratively! Can I read in this a flimsy thread of hope that maybe one of our gallant brothers might have.... Oh, no, I suppose not... Sigh. Wonderful tale, wonderful writing... Keep at it, please!
