For Love of a City

This is a powerful vignette, Meckinock. I could feel how Faramir was torn between wanting to continue the (rare, for him) joyous feelings, but also wanting to respect the grief of a fellow warrior in mourning... whose familial losses, he learns, so closely mirror his own. And near the end, when Faramir thought of that northern Dúnedain woman looking out of her front door and seeing only one rider return, I got tears in my eyes.
A clear-eyed look at the unbearable costs of war. Very well done!

I've just read this sitting in bright sunshine with a mug of tea on a Saturday morning and it sent shivers up my spine!
This is a fantastic piece. Absolutley astounding. Great composition and very moving. Tales about Halbarad really 'get' me but this one is head and shoulders above any others.
Thanks.
