Come Now the Plaintiff, Frodo Baggins...

LOL This was great! What a different (and amusing) lens to see the Trilogy through. The thought of Frodo suing anybody is a riot, and the "change of venue" petition was a nice touch. :D Well done!

Thanks! I imagine that there could be HUGE numbers of lawsuits born of the Ring War. :) I'd hate to see how long it would take the Ents to state their arguements.

Hoot!
Imagine the lawsuits that adventure would have brought, limited liability or not. Do you think the people of Laketown could have brought a class action suit?

Faramir may have some defenses himself, but I'd say Gandalf is pretty much screwed... :)

Gwynnyd - Thanks!
I really hadn't planned on doing any more - writing those things makes my head spin, and I even cut down on the normal repetition!
Glad you like it!

But would it apply if the actions being sued for took place before he was formally King? :)
Thanks!

Oh, those poor people in Laketown would be tied up in litigation for years - I'm sure the Dwarven justice system is a nightmare to deal with. :)
Thanks!

Given dwarven lifespans, I can see that the "heirs and assigns" clause in Bilbo's contract would probably be very important.
But given that Dwarves are reknown for being both stiff-necked and quarrelsome--and having axes ready to hand--might their legal system prefer binding arbitration?
Cheers--
