Ch. 3: Some Elven Facts of Life
Great story. Great chapter. You capture Legolas's youth with tenderness and humor. Some really wicked jokes in this chapter effectively keep the story from becoming too sweet. Can't wait to finish the story.

Jael,
I have just read this story again and have to repeat, again, how much I love it. You capture the behavior and the mindset of a seven-years-old Estel very believably, and you manage to lay out the way he and Legolas take to each other and the foundations of a later, lifelong friendship are developed very believable: Legolas' first slight irritation at Estel's dogging his feet is amusingly written, and the adventure part is captivating. I also like the idea of Gilraen's role in this very much. This is a lovely story, and lovely written to boot. Thank you again for writing this!

Why, thank you! This was my very first story, yet it remains among my favorites. I'd like to say that it has undergone some changes since I brought it here to HASA, thanks to the input and feedback of some very generous and helpful people.
I've updated the first chapters and will continue with some minor changes to the language in the latter ones -- as soon as I can edit the blue pencil out of my master files.
