Hi, Alawa,
This is just... superb. It is one of those stories that fits so seamlessly into Tolkien's universe that I'll be imagining it in the background whenever I read the books. I thought you captured Sam's voice and PoV perfectly, and the story is so densely packed with details and references (while still flowing along as smoothly as the Anduin) that I caught more and more the second time I read it.
I simply cannot name all of the marvelous things that struck me because there are too many of them, one right after the other. The entire story feels right and perfect - a healing moment like this must have happened. Thank you for filling a gap that I didn't even realize was there!

Thank you so much for your lovely comments! I was absolutely chuffed!
You mention as having worked some of the things I was most worried about - Sam's pov, for instance, and it being rather slow moving (especially in the second part, I think) and I'm really glad you enjoyed the details and references - sometimes I think I don't know where to stop with them!
