I really love this story - though I see it was written some time ago, I saw it in the archives and am glad I read it. I really enjoyed your use of the palantir to show Faramir what he needed to understand about his father.
I LOVE the interpretation of Faramir's name you gave. The moment where Denethor held him was very touching - it was nice for me to see happier Denethor too. I also think the way you showed how love to excess could become troubled and frustrating to a man like Denethor who seems to value his reason and wisdom more would result in coldness and feelings of betrayal on his part.
