I like that Saelind is among her people as opposed to being confined to her cottage. And how fitting it is to have her tell Aragorn about his father. Arathorn not liking ale and pipeweed?....how ironic!
Daeron is a scary person--like a dark cloud hovering in the shadows, and yet I feel sorry for him. So Beleg was responsible for the fight between Daeron and Arathorn? Interesting..... I hope we get to hear Gilraen's take on this whole situation.
Has my love made me a eunuch? Very funny line!!! What is a eunuch? (althought I can guess what a eunuch does not do!) It's so natural how Aragron's thoughts wander towards Arwen. That's pretty much how a person's mind often works when one has just left a relationship...especially the way theirs ended.
He had wondered at the look of sadness in her eyes. This particular memory of Arwen gives the reader a glimpse of what she might have been going through...that she was not the haughty and cold elf that broke Aragorn's heart.
"he had seen two eagles in their mating dance, their claws entwined as they tumbled through the air." A very powerful image!
He would settle for nothing less. If she would not have him, he would have no one... It seems like father and son have a lot in common!
I am so enjoying this!
