This story is great. You portay just the right mix of nobility and resentment on the part of Denethor towards Thorongil. However I am a litlle confused. In the last paragraph you say, that Thorongil leaves Gondor a few weeks after the council meeting. Wasn't Aragorn supposed to batlle the corsairs first, which would take two years according to what he said to Gandalf not long before the council meeting? I'm probably missing something. Anyway it is a great story either way.

The kidnapping of a young Ranger was pretty nasty! I'm not too pleased with Denethor right now. Although what was done was well within his capabilities, I suppose.
