What a lovely story! You evoked so much, from the beauty of the sea (I really wanted to just run down to Ocean Beach) to Sam's love for Frodo. And the tale of the Elf-maid added an unsual and moving dimension. I envy your talent for telling fairy tales and setting them in Middle Earth.

I'm so glad you liked it. About the embedded fairy tale, that was actually the first one I wrote, though I really only copied down what Cirdan said. When he joined the little expedition, the tale just popped, fully formed, into my head.
Then I started finding more, though I can't blame credit Cirdan for them...
