Henneth Annûn Story Archive

I remember reading tales of Frodo following the Brown Wizard, and those stories helped inspire my own writing.  How I've gone so long without reading this, as many times as it has been recommended to me, I don't know.  But I will read it now, and thank you for the chance!

It's a good question, I must say, as to whether Frodo would still be alive.

I find I like Canohando's resourceful and logical nature.  He's made it this far, at least!

Poor orc--at least it is recognized who he is and that Frodo has befriended him.  Now to see his acceptance by the Queen.

I love her the more for her compassion.  And Aragorn will replace the warden?  Good!

Obviously the King's  trust must be earned.  Well and good, as Canohando is patient.

Yes, it is that time.  And they see the likeness between him and Frodo, and honor that.  Excellent.

It must have seemed so strange to her, realizing he knew his time had come.

A difficult choice for each of them to face.  At least she will be guarded for what time is given her.

Yes, the tales of Frodo's actions would grow wild even while those who knew him and loved him still lived!  Wonderful!  Love young Miko.

He does not completely comprehend what disturbs her.  I am glad he felt he should kneel to Legolas somehow.   Yes, he was one of the Firstborn; and he will watch the Queen precede him.

And now he begins to understand and appreciate what it is she faces, and why.  I am sorry Miko's mother is as she is, although I understand in part.

At least the succession is guaranteed now.  Well and good.

I am glad it is a gentle ending Aragorn was granted.

I suspect he was himself of noble Elven blood before the dark took him.

Some always thinkthey know the right, even when the acts of those they hate put their "truths" to the lie.

I can appreciate her feelings here--prolonging the pain just feels counterintuitive.

Trolls?   And it appears Canohando has managed to pull a Pippin!

Definitely not the welcome she had expected.  Now, to find a place where Canohando can recover.

At least she is able to see that these others care for him.

So, he yearns now to be what he was meant to be before his family was taken and ruined by the Dark Lords.  A sad enough fate.  And Malawen is now drawn by him, even as he is drawn by the Light.

At last she is able to let go of her own grief, feeling his.  And all mourn the passing of the Queen.

Compassion where once there was hatred and fear is good; and I find myself wondering if he won't have his own shadow following him northward.

He is no longer happy, it appears, save when he has someone to protect.  He is more and more recovering the spirit of what he was meant to be.

And to what choice, I find myself wondering, might peredhil born of Elves and orcs come?

A glad time of it in spite of his self-flagellation.  Frodo would be glad of it.

Not a pleasant surprise to find at the bottom of the tree!  Now, to see their reception by Celeborn!

Itaril has much bitterness to deal with, apparently.

An excellent sign, this!

And now they are mated, and fated to remain with one another.  And so that is the evil she believes she did!  Poor thing!

And those who matter, Celeborn and Dartha, bless their union also.

Poor Malawen, thinking she is not acceptable due to the infanticide.

He speaks well and, I deem, truly.

Hooray!  Someone who knew Frodo--or well of him!  Yes!

She needs now to let the darkness go.

I am glad that Eldarion thought to send word, and that all goes well for them now.

I am glad for the welcome.  It appears that Candohando subscribes to temperance, which is a good thing in an orc who has leapt for the light!  Lovely greetings!

Itaril would be the next Dark Lord, then?  Pitiful!  Same for this youth.

And am glad they managed to best the polio.

Another choice!

wow, what a story! quite different from the usual. Great original characters. But how I wanted him to go West! even to the very end I was hoping. Perhaps in the next story?

I am glad that Frodo walked those miles with him, showing him the places that meant so much to him, and at last freed him from his griefs and fears.
