Bitter As Blood

This is a powerful vignette! So much in so few, eloquent words. The power of the Ring and Boromir's awareness of It and what It's doing to him are moving. How he sees himself in regards to his City, Steward, and King is poignant. I particularly liked the line "the blood of her children passed to their heirs, not to the field of battle," and the phrase "bitter as blood in my mouth."
