6. Not A One Like Her Left
"Got your eye on anyone then, lad?"
Bilbo looks askance at his father.
Bungo chuckles and takes a drag on his pipe before continuing.
"For the Spring dance!"
Bilbo shakes his head.
"Not at all. It's all so silly, father- I'd much rather be at home with a good book."
Bungo nods, and catches Belladonna's eyes flashing at him in the firelight.
"I thought that too once, lad, and then I met your mother."
"There's not a one like her left in the Shire, father, and that's a fact."
Belladonna cries herself to sleep that night.
