TA 1944 during Gondor's war with the wainriders, Adrahil was sent south by Minohtar, after the death of King Ondoher, to guard the southern approaches to Minas Tirith and prevent an assault from Harad. He was successful and subsequently joined Eärnil for the final assault on the wainriders in the Battle of the Camp.
According to Christopher Tolkien, in The Peoples of Middle-earth, in an unpublished manuscript, Tolkien refers to this early Adrahil as being of Dol Amroth – although in published works, the first Prince of Dol Amroth is Galador. (He was granted the title sometime after his birth in TA 2004.) I choose to interpret this to mean Captain Adrahil, who fought in 1944, is an antecedent of Galador and therefore Adrahil, Prince of Dol Amroth, father of Imrahil and Finduilas.
