4. A Quiet Conversation

‘Your Steward spoke with me today,’ said Eomer, at last. Aragorn arched a brow. ‘He seems much… improved.’

‘In health?’


Another long silence.


‘My sister, it seems, has had a large part in his recovery.’ Eomer shook his drink. ‘Does Eowyn strike you as a healer?’

‘The Lady Eowyn has many virtues; some she has not yet shown. What did you do?’

‘I went to see Imrahil.’ He ignored Aragorn’s pointed stare. ‘He has much to say concerning his nephew, as does everybody else around here.’

‘Eomer… what happened?’

‘You’ll just have to wait ‘til they tell you.’
