“We must send word to the Prince.” Minohtar rubs a weary hand across his eyes. Time later to mourn the loss of uncle and cousin. A squire readies paper and ink for the dispatch.
There is challenge and response outside the tent. The leader of the Éothéod enters, bows. “Lords.” His eyes scan the company, uncertain who commands. “I bring tidings.”
He can speak no more. Mute, he holds out his hands, shows the tokens. Minohtar pales.
