Author's Notes: This story takes place in the spring of 1421 S.R., a few months before Frodo leaves for Valinor. It is a companion piece to "Gracious Days".
Quotes are indicated in italics, the first is from Fellowship of the Ring, the others are by Frederico Garcia Lorca in the adaptation of Leonard Cohen's "Take This Waltz".
