Story Summary
Dark AU. The Quest failed. Sam killed Gollum before the Ring was destroyed and now darkness rules the lands of Middle-earth. A small group from the resistance battles both hunger and mistrust, to keep hope alive. But will the sacrifices outweigh the gain?

What a rollercoaster ride... I found the initial few chapters a bit slow to get underway, but still gripping enough to read on; and it has definitely been worth it:)

Well, hard to believe there are almost no comments on this! A dark but very tense and suspenseful AU tale. Multiple cliffhangers all at once... Nice round characters, some original, some quite original interpretations of canon characters. And oh so much mystery yet to be told. I'm hooked... I imagine lots of other readers are too. Keep it up and thanks for an addicting read, Ragnelle!
