Lovely tale. Though I was a wee bit surprised at Eowyn's humanity *g*
I very much liked this and agree with her. Glad Aragorn did, too.

When I read this story -- even though I had paid no attention to the author's names when I read the stories -- I just *knew* that this was the same cairn of stones mentioned in the story "Survivors", so it was no great surprise when I discovered that they were both written by the same person. I agree with Eowyn...this sort of memorial is somehow more powerful than something grandiose, especially since the people really wouldn't need anything monumental in order to remember the war in the first few years (their own nightmares would be enough to remind them).
I also like the way in which Eowyn's marriage has turned out to be something very different (and much better) than she had anticipated, even though I imagine it has not been without its share of rough spots...especially not when one of the people involved is someone as headstrong as Eowyn, who's really more of a rose (thorns and all!) than the lily she seems to be compared with in the books.
