Story Summary
Six drabbles centring on Gandalf, written for the "Hairdressing" challenge prompts at LiveJournal's tolkien_weekly drabble community. (And yes, I did interpret the prompts somewhat laterally...)

A beautiful series of vivid images and moments. I find it fascinating what prompts you followed to write these fine drabbles. Thanks!

Thanks, Aiwendiel! The tolkien_weekly prompts are usually words one can follow in lateral ways, so you aren't necessarily bound to the overall "theme" of the challenge. I don't always write them all as a series, but once I'd got Gandalf for the first of these they did seem to link together. I'm glad you enjoyed them!

Gandalf is such a complex character, and his story is so deep and far-reaching. It's always highly interesting to see someone's take on his inner thoughts, and you manage it quite well.
As I expressed elsewhere, the amazing power of drabbles is not in their ability to tell a new story (though that can be done), it's in their ability to take a well-known scene and look at it with fresh eyes, adding something new to the reader's mindset. And this series of drabbles achieves that purpose wonderfully.
