The land about the 'Ringló a river (joint tributary of Morthond in S[outh] Gondor' (Index). Its name is derived from Sindarin ring 'cold, chill' + lô 'fenland'. In The Rivers and Beacon-hills of Gondor it is said that 'there is no record of any swamps or marsh in' the course of the Ringló.... (Vinyar Tengwar 42 (July 2001), p. 13).
