Meaning: yellow river

Location: A river arising from the southern slopes of Ered Wethrin, near their juncture with the Mountains of Mithrim, flowing south into the Teiglin River north of the Crossings of Teiglin.

Description:

Down the ancient road they came that led through the long defile of Sirion, past the isle where Minas Tirith of Finrod had stood, and so through the land between Malduin and Sirion, and on through the eaves of Brethil to the Crossings of Teiglin.

Voronwë turned somewhat north, until they crossed the three well-streams of Teiglin; and then he bore eastward again, leaving the mountains, and went warily, until they passed Glithui and came to the stream of Malduin, and it was frozen black.
