Location: The great cape upon which Mount Taras stood; the western terminus of the line of hills extending from the Ered Wethrin.
Description:
[Tuor] saw a line of great hills that barred his way, marching westward until they ended in a tall mountain: a dark and cloud-helmed tower reared upon mighty shoulders above a great green cape thrust out into the sea.
Those grey hills were indeed the western outliers of Ered Wethrin, the north-fence of Beleriand, and the mountain was Mount Taras....
