Location: Anórien is a part of Gondor north of the White Mountains (Ered Nimrais) and south of the mouths of the Entwash. The Mering stream divides Anórien from Rohan in the west, its eastern border is the Anduin.
Description: Anórien was the portion of the northlands retained by Gondor when Calenardon was given to Eorl by Cirion. The area was sparsely populated by the time of the Ring War, but some folk lived there. The beacons summoning aid to Gondor were on hilltops in Anórien, and the Great West Road ran through that land, close enough for a rider to see the beacon fires.
