Discussing: Thranduil and Celeborn
Re: Thranduil and Celeborn
What we know is that both of them are rather reclusive (as in not interested in intimate bonds with other groups) and very protective of their people and realms. While Thranduil was busy trying not to be evicted from his kingdom, Celeborn and Galadriel were busy keeping Lothlórien a secret from the world. It's only natural that they wouldn't feel the need to be close, to have their people mingling too much or to have their doors open at all times, like Elrond did.
Sure, there are grudges they could hold on to from the times of Oropher, but it's nothing dramatic. There seems to be a wave of mutual indiference between Celeborn and Thranduil, a distancing from things that didn't hit right home. As far as I can remember, they didn't have a particular dislike for each other, they were simply always too busy to care.
