How Do I Love Thee Challenge

As We Feel

2. Wonder

From Celeborn to Galadriel

Through waters large, and through the foamy seas
Thou art come thither, flower of the dawn.
Thy golden sheen the mists cannot resist
As sun in cloudless morning thy light holds.

How shall poor words best capture such delight,
or jew’lers's craft portray what poets cannot?
For things of beauty pale within thy sight
As the moon wanes when day's swift rays come forth.

O wonder fair! Of ancient days hast sprung
To kindle glade and forest with her glow.
My feeble silver to her golden clung
As fast and forcefully as wind does blow.

The wonder, then, is that thou hast remained
In twilight, O fair queen of hearts, estranged!
