IgnobleBard's 2006 Birthday Presents
1. It was... - by Vilwarin
It was a dark and stormy night and the two rangers were glad to have found a shelter. As Haldor leaned wearily against the wall, Aragorn could see that his companion's bandage showed red patches. He probed the wound and Haldor moaned loudly.
"I am sorry, my friend, but we cannot make a fire." He placed a hand on his friend's brow and sighed. "You have a fever and I cannot treat you better."
Aragorn stilled mid-motion. For a moment, all was very quiet. Then, bright light filled the cave as their ceiling disappeared.
Finally, a child shouted "Naneth!"
Sheepishly, the two rangers looked up at the regal woman that held their ceiling in form of a blanket.
She scowled down at them, tapping her foot.
"Aragorn Arathornion, whatever possessed thee to show my son such a scene?"
