Les Mots Justes

What Remains?

1. Galadriel

I thought I would be Artanis, High Princess of a High people. I thought I was Nerwen, a woman among men, matched in their mind and heart.

I used to be Alátariel in a tongue that sings on an island too far away. They yet mistake me for Galadhriel, lady of tall trees that answer to a lord’s voice only.

And now I stand, unbound by age and place, unmarked by temptation. Behold me; I shine.

This shall endure. I shall remain Galadriel for all time.

Shall I not?

Truth wonders, softly: which one of the wise can ever tell?
