Lithe Challenge
Challenge Details
The hobbits celebrate midsummer during three days, First Lithe on June 21, Midyear's Day on June 22 and Afterlithe on June 23 (dates are converted to our modern calendar).
The theme of this challenge is to celebrate midsummer in Middle-earth. Since this is a holiday challenge, you are only supposed to write and post stories from the 21st to the 23rd of June, the actual holidays. However, we realise that some people may require more time, or may already have a piece that fits, and so that we don't exclude them, the challenge has been opened earlier.
There are no limitations to the length of the piece accepted. Anything you can manage to write in three days is fine - be it drabble, haiku or cinquain, vignette, short story or novel!
To celebrate this holiday, we will also be insta-drabbling on the 22nd of June. Come join us and have loads of fun! To join, get YIM, add juno_magic or narwenalmiriel, and get online at:
- 10 pm CEST (Central European Summer Time) - UTC/GMT + 0200
- 4 pm EDT (Eastern American Daylight Time) - UTC/GMT - 0400
Thanks to Juno for the suggestion, and also for working out the timings for the drabbling.
