Challenge Details
How about writing a story about an evening in "The Prancing Pony" or any other pub in Middle Earth? You may set your story in any original or canonical pub. Who could be there? Dwarves, men, Dúnedain, hobbits? Others? A disguised elf?
How about a birthday-party? A business meeting? Or just a chance encounter between strangers?
Would there be only talking or also singing and dancing?
Gossip? Rumour? Drunkards?

- On the twenty-ninth of Nárië in 2885, the Haradrim forces were defeated at the Crossing of Poros and a legendary tavern acquired its name. On the twenty-ninth of Nárië in 3018, the eastern shore of Osgiliath fell to the Enemy as the Ring War loomed, and a group of weary soldiers returned to this same tavern on the night of its anniversary. Experimental writing style. Slightly AU.

- Set at Pelargir after the Battle of Fornost, this story deals with a young man suffering from the Black Shadow, a desperate mother and two strange travellers, one clad in grey and one in earthen brown.
They say that the hands of the king can heal... and there were other kings in Arda before Aragorn’s time.
Probably AU, this story also draws inspiration from H.P.Lovecraft's "Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath".
