It is said that those who are gifted with the ability to lead a nation often lack the ability to head a family or have a healthy one-on-one relationship. Obviously there are many gifted nation-leaders in M-E... but how do things go when they try to impose the methods of governance that work so well on a large group to their own family lives? Pick your favourite champion of the Free Peoples of Middle Earth and disillusion yourself by wondering what their personal relationships must look like. Or, you can just apply this idea to Denethor, whom we all know is charmingly dysfunctional to begin with ;-)
