Writing Mary Sue
Challenge Details
They're everywhere: irritating, egotistical, painful to read. But how many people have actually approached a story with the intent of writing one? Is a well-written Mary Sue possible? What makes people write them in the first place? Find out for yourself by writing one of your own! Note: This challenge is not meant for parodies of Mary Sues, entertaining though they may be.
Rules:
- The Sue must be a main character. She must be female, and she can be either an OC or a very underdeveloped character from canon.
- The story must involve a romance with a Tolkien character. Events relating to this must constitute the plot or a subplot.
- All ratings accepted.

- A story set in Rivendell during the War of the Ring. Featuring my very own OFC, Nindorien, as well as many wonderful Tolkien characters. Deals with the exchanging of counsels between the Elves of the House of Elrond.

- What began as a simple story about a woman of the Rohirrim, wife to one of the Riders in Eomer's eored, has become instead a full blown biography, liberally sprinkled with romance, intrigue, and tragedy. This will remain a WiP for the foreseeable future as I've no wish to ruin the lives of these characters with my own eagerness to see their story completed. Canon characters mingle freely with OCs, but I promise there are no non-canonical romances here.
- Werecat - Wish upon a Star
