About HASA

Henneth Annûn Story Archive's (HASA) purpose is to present well-written, imaginative, engaging JRRT fan fiction without encountering large amounts of frivolous material and distracting advertising found at commercial fiction posting sites. There are a number of excellent fandom sites with marvelous material. However, these sites are often:

• Single genre - only humor, only slash, etc.
• Single main character - only Sam, only Legolas, etc.
• Maintained by hand by one person, who cannot dedicate time and resources to supporting a large archive site
• Requires writing tests or membership in other groups to join.

A number of these sites are operated by HASA members.

HASA accept stories of any genre or rating and with any combination of main characters. We are also pleased to post critical essays about JRRT's works and about JRRT oriented fan fiction.

The site is set up to allow members to publish their stories under the "General" category. In addition, HASA has a review process that allows authors to submit their works to a nine-member anonymous review panel. The panel reads over the story and decides if it is an exceptional or outstanding work of fanfiction. Those who pass review are given the "Reviewed" status and are marked with a blue star . Look for the most recently reviewed stories on the home page.

As HASA has grown, its mission has broadened. While we still review and post stories, the emphasis of the site has shifted to writing. In our Members area, we have an extensive Forum where our members discuss their work, a growing Research Library of information and citations drawn from LotR, The Hobbit, The Silmarillion, and HoMe, and a Challenges section to encourage authors to expand their writing interests. Membership is free and is open to all JRRT enthusiasts, not just authors.

Our goal is to provide our readers with a selection of the best JRRT fan fiction we possibly can, and to inspire other authors to write more of it!
